The countdown begins at your feet
Sometimes, wedding planning lists seem endless: finding the perfect venue, catering, invitations, the honeymoon, flowers, the dress... In the midst of all that, shoes are often relegated to a "I'll look at that later." But if we’ve learned anything from making shoes by hand, it’s that time is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. A well-made shoe takes months, not days.
So we’ve done what we do best: made the process simple. This is your 6-month pre-wedding checklist.
6 months before: time to look
It’s too early to decide, but it’s the perfect time to start looking. Save the styles that catch your eye, pay attention to the fabrics, colors, and whether you imagine yourself in high heels or prefer something lower. You don’t need to have your dress finalized to start getting an idea of your shoes.
Explore the collection calmly, without the pressure of deciding just yet.
5 months before: the dress takes shape
Usually, this is when the dress begins to be defined: silhouette, length, whether it will have a train. It’s time to cross-reference that information with what you had seen in shoes. A midi dress calls for a different shoe than one with a long train; a very high heel changes how the fabric falls.
If you have questions about which style matches your dress best, we can help you decide.
4 months before: time to buy
This is the point you shouldn't let pass. A handmade shoe needs time to adjust to your foot, and you need time to adapt to it. Buying them now gives you plenty of margin before the big day.
This is, quite literally, the moment we recommend you get your shoes.
3 months before: first real fitting
We aren't just talking about trying them on in front of the mirror. Walk around the house in them, step up on a step, sit down, stand up, dance in them. If you have the dress, try them on together to see how the length falls and how the whole outfit moves.
Every pair of shoes is made so that this first fitting is also the first time you feel how comfortable they are.
2 months before: final adjustments
If something doesn’t quite feel right—a rub, a strange feeling in the heel—this is the time to say so, not the week before. Two months give you the leeway to resolve any detail without stress.
We are here to help you with any adjustments you might need before the day.
1 month before: practice with them on
It’s no longer about trying them on, but living in them. Wear them around the house while doing normal tasks. Dance in them, even if it's just in the living room. The more time they spend on your feet before the wedding, the fewer surprises you'll have on the big day.
A shoe you are already familiar with is a shoe you won't even notice on your wedding day — and that is the feeling we are aiming for.
The wedding day
If you’ve followed this countdown, this is the only step left: ENJOY IT. Your shoes are no longer a pending decision, they are a part of you, so comfortable that you will forget you’re even wearing them.
In short: the shoe is not the last detail of the wedding, it's one of the first you should resolve. Give it the time that a good handmade shoe needs, and it will give you back the peace of mind of not having to think about it anymore.
